Are you sure that the files are compatible with Pages? They have to be Pages, .doc. Or .docx files in order to open in Pages. You cannot open PDF files in Pages.

Ohhhhhhhh ok, that will be why, I was trying to transfer a jpg and a pdf, can you re-format files to be pages compatiable?

Otherwise it seems to defeat the purpose of opening/file sharing files??

    Cheers

Well not necessarily you just need an app that is compatible with different file types and file sharing will work. For instance - Adobe Reader on the iPad uses File Sharing and there other pdf apps like GoodReader that use it as well. With Pages - you can export a document as a pdf, but you can't import pdf files into Pages.

You can email the jpg and save it to the camera roll in order to use in a Pages document or if you have a drawing app that uses file sharing - the .jpg will work with those apps.
