My Lightning to SD card camera reader can read photos from the SD card but won't import them to the iPad. What can I do?

Can someone please tell me why my SD card reader won't import pictures to my iPas? Thank You!

With the Photos app open, do the photo thumbnails show up on the iPad screen.

Is the card an SD, SDHC or SDXC ans what size?

Thank You for your reply. Both SD & SDHC cards open up the photo thumbnails. But when I click import all or import selected, the photos did not get imported to the iPad

Dear Texas Mac Man,

I just tried importing photos again by shuting down and power on my iPad and re-inserting the card reader and it worked. Thanks.
