no sound on ipad2. Updated to 6.1. No slider sound bars. They only appear when I plug in headphones.When I unplug the head phones, the sound slider disappears.? Any thoughts on how to restore sound, without headphones. I use Skype and have no sound unless I plug in head phones.

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.
I have tried this and it does not help. When I double click home button and go to the bottom screen and swipe all the way right, there is a bar on the right, but no button to slide bar. When I plug in my headphones the button appears and I can adjust the sound through my headphone, but as soon as I unplug the headphone the sound button disappears. Everything in the settings screen are correct. So, anymore suggestions in getting the sound back.
Make sure you see the Apple Logo when you do the reset.
I see the apple logo, then I let go of both keys and let it reboot. Still no sound button on the slider bar. I've done this at least half dozen times.Still no luck.
You may have to backup and do a Restore.

Ok, backed up and restored. Still no luck.Getting tired. Will look at it again tomorrow. Thanks for all your help. Thought maybe a software conflict. Delete the last few apps that I installed. Still no luck. Button still missing. Only works when using headphones. Probably will take it to apple store and see what they think.
