I am creating book content in pages and exporting it to epub. The book content has multiple images which are linked to text. The images are removed while the page document is exported to epub. Is there any specific way which could help me maintain the references between image and text while the Page content is converted to ePub,

Have you tried making the images inline? ie pasting them into the text next to what they illustrate?

Hi Peter - Thanks for the suggestion. Can't we have images referred similar to endnotes or footnotes? I am able to do so while in pages. However I do not see any images while I export pages to epub and test it on iPad.

I don't understand what you mean by "images referred".
Images are just objects, either Floating, independent objects, which don't stay with their text and can even pop off the page, or Inline which act just like a text character in the text.
The Inline image can be in its own paragraph with a caption following.

I have aorund 5-7 images per chapter. I do understand, keeping Images Inline is one of the option for embedding the images into my document. However, I intend to Link images to text in the document. Which will allow me to show the images to the user only if he selects the hyperlinked text.

Since Pages can only link to web pages and other Pages documents, how are you achieving the "Link Images".

Peter you can bookmark within a Pages document, but I don't know how it works for ePubs documents.
I thought ePubs should be very basic and not have a lot of complicated features. Well I don't much like to read a lot on a screen. Real books works better for me.
How will a bookmark do the image pop-up the O.P. is talking about?

I don't know. Pages doesn't do pop ups at all as far as I know and you can't bookmark the images but the character beside it.
