my 4s still stuck in without a wifi (grayed out wifi)..anyone can solve my problem.?? i think apple does'nt care about this issue...or they dont have any solution about this.. this very disappoined to the one of apple product... I'm excited to the update 6.1 but after all.. nothings happen.. this realy worst case. HEy apple !!! what you think about it!!! WE BECAME A BAD MAN TO THIS KIND OF SITTUATION....

To solve this issue go to settings > general > reset> reset network settings and your I-phone will restart and then you can reconnect to any of your wifi's hope this helps
Same thing happened to me. This is really disappointing. I've been 6 months without wifi connection. APPLE, I SWEAR, THIS WAS THE LAST IPHONE I'VE EVER BOUGHT IN MY LIFE.

You said your WiFi was greyed out. That tip's title is "iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim" so it has everything to do with your problem. If none of the steps in the tip resolve the issue your phone is broken; probably a failed WiFi chip, which is fairly common. Some people have reported success fixing it by putting the phone in a ziplock bag (to prevent condensation), then in a freezer for 15 minutes (I kid you not).

This problem was common when Steve Jobs was alive. It goes all the way back to the original iPhone, and there has been a steady stream of reports for 5 1/2 years. The RF chip in the iPhone (which provides WiFi and BlueTooth) has been a weak point from the beginning.
5 years?? thats a shame to wifi chip manufacturer still they dont do anything to solve the problem... what kind of engr. they are.. apple sames nothing to do with thier supplier... if in this case hardware is really talk about it...
they, dear, are the worst kind of engr...they release an update without the major fix.
im honestly disappointed, always thought apple was the best, too bad apple is the best at failing too.

i wish i had balls to try the refrigerator/hair dryer tricks. other than that, i tried really everything i could find online, my last hope is taking my 4s to an autorized assistance and paying to get **** replaced.
@sateh .. ya paying for assistance is our last solution 😟 , horrible .. iPAID 😟 we paid 😟 for this kind of issue.. or another period of time waiting for iOS 7.0 update in our itunes... THE WAIT WAS TORTURE... anyway another iPAID in our network for internet.. 😟
I was having issues with my iPhone 4s... the battery was dying quickly, the wifi was greyed out and my flashlight app wouldn't satay on. I had a suspicion that it was a software issue. I updated to ios 6.1 last night and it solved all my problems. However, this evening I couldn't cpnnect to wifi so I restarted my phone and it went back to greyed out wifi, no flashlight app and I suspect the battery will die quickly tomorrow... weird!!! Oh, even tried to restore phone... no luck!!
