Anyway highlight one.dmg file, do a Get Info on it in the Finder, look for Open With, choose other & navigate to...
System:Library:CoreServices:DiskImageMounter.app:
Choose that, then click the Apply to All box. 🙂

Was this DMG donloaded or maybe copied to a Flash Drive?

We are experiencing the same issue with over 40 unique users across our state. The users are on 10.8 though. It seems to have started in the past few weeks and we think it may be caused by a software update.
Normally that error indicates a bad download, can you create a small DMG in Disk Utility, then open that one?
Firefox DMG doesn't open on any of the affected systems. We imaged a brand new computer and DMGs open. After running software update, the same DMGs and newly downloaded DMGs and ISOs no longer work.
