I have managed to change my apple id, but cannot change my icloud id please help

Do you mean that you changed the email address which forms your login while retaining the same Apple ID? If so, just sign out in System Prefences (or Settings)>iCloud and then sign in with the new login. Your data will disappear from your Mac/device when you log out but will reappear when you sign back in.
You can't change a persisting iCloud ID (not Apple ID) only creating a new icloud ID.
You can have as much icloud id's as you want.
I changed my Apple ID recently. I then changed it on my iMac. I signed into iCloud with my new Apple ID. I then restarted my computer. Afterwards, I go into System Preferences/i Cloud. The screen still comes up with my old Apple ID. I tried signing in with my old and new password but they both don't work. How do I make my iCloud in the iMac use/recognize my new Apple ID?
