how to save documents from your mail onto the desktop

I AM UNABLE TO SAVE A DOCUMENT RECEIVED IN THE MAIL BOX ONTO MY DESKTOP. PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO DO THIS.

You can't save documents to the desktop on an iPad. You have to save the document into an app that can read and/or edit the file, the iPad does not have the same file structure that a computer has.


For instance, if you want to save a photo that was received in an email, you tap and hold down on the photo and a Save option will pop up. When you tap Save - The photo will be saved to the camera roll on the iPad. If you receive a PDF file, you tap and hold down on the PDF icon and a window will pop up with choices of all of the apps on your iPad that will read and save PDF files.
