"ipad cannot be synced" "the disk is locked and cannot be written to" Can anyone help?

Can anyone hep? when I try to sync my ipad recently I am getting a message: The ipad cannot be synced. The disk is locked and cannot be written to"

This message appears even after I have put in my password. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks.

iPad 2, iOS 6.0.1

Seems like the problem has to do with file permitions. I would navigate to your itunes folder and right click it, go to properties and make sure read only is not ticked and click apply. From there make sure to apply the changes when prompted to all sub folders and files. Do the same with the music folder or any other content you are trying to sync over. Open iTunes and try again.
