tile open finder window

This isn't really a question because I have spent the last 30 minutes skimming through a few years worth of complaints and questions about tiling all open finder windows. Just airing a little frustration about the lack of this ability. It used to be possible on OS9 and it really makes no sense to me that Apple has removed it. The other options ( mission control or expose ) just don't help if you want to work with multiple Finder windows at once and you don't want to fiddle with manually placing and sizing them. At this point, I imagine Apple has absolutely no plans on ever fixing the shortcoming but I would still suggest submitting feedback if you are interested in having this funtionality back.. pointless as it may be. http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

In the event others don't want to be forced to work the way Apple sees fit, there are some options available. This one looks good.

Baltwo,

In Mac OS, Unix, Windows and any computing platform, what jgowrie suggests is the correct interpretation of tiling (you do not put tiles on a surface one on top of the other, right?). What you suggested is referred to as cascading. I think both features have their usefulness at some point, and I also wish we would have them both on OS X.

I have seen some people suggest the use of Mission Control to get the window tiling capability, but that is really not a viable alternative. Tiling is not really useful for window display purposes, but for actual active, workable windows simultaneous access.

You're wrong. Tiling is not what you say and is not wasting space. Some of us are managing milions of dollars and need to see more that one window. Wasted space is answers that don't answer the question. The f3 key is not tiling because it does not let you type in one window while still seeing the other window tiled next to it.
