Battery problems after updating to iOS 6.1

Since updating to iOS 6.1 my battery seems to drain at double speed. I barely used my iPhone today but noticed that by mid morning that the battery ws down to 28%. Since there was no problem with iOS 6.0.1, is there a way to restore back to that iOS?

All my apps are always closed and the normal power saving techniques are used.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

This is the first thing Apple will tell you to try if you ask them about a problem with your phone.

After updating my iOS to 6.1 I only noticed longer battery life along with many improvements, some small some more significant, in the default apps.

Hello,

For me, this update 6.1 on my iPhone 5 is a disaster!

Battery drains like an hourglass! And worst of all, the battery will discharge even during the night while my iPhone 5 is plugged in! Probably once 100% charged, the battery no longer holds charge.

Toaday, I just go home with a battery to 85%. Two hours later, without touching my phone (without notification or push or anything!) Battery fall down to 60%!

The worst is that I anticipated this trouble by restoring my iPhone to install full version 6.1 directly from iTunes!

So, I do not know what else to do! I am not sure a new restore improve things.

I reset network settings on the iPhone, uncheck all applications potentially consuming battery, but no improvement!

I went to see the genius' yesterday. My problem was that my usage was almost identical to my stand by times, which means that something was continuing to run in the background after closing all the apps.

I was told to turn off location services and then one by one turn each in turn to see which one was causing the drain on the battery. I was impatient so just factory reset the handset which seems to have fixed the problem.

I'll keep you all posted on how it continues.
