Did this post ever get answered/solved? I stupidly imported my LinkedIN contacts and it's really annoying, their birthday shows up on the calendar now. Is it possible to remove the sync??
Actually, that link gives instructions on how to remove connections from Linkedin. I need to simply remove the Linkedin Contacts from my Contacts on my iPhone, I do not want to remove the connection to that person from Linkedin as a whole. Thanks
In the Contacts app, tap the "Groups" button at the top-left and de-select the LinkedIn group.
There is no LinkedIn group (just iCloud and Exchange) and Linkedin is installed.
I have exactly the same problem in my IOS devices and, tks to an Exchange account created by me to sync with Google Apps, now the LinkediN contacts (connections) are also in my Gmail!!! Help please!!!
I had a similar problem; exchange contacts and linkedin contacts showing up on my iphone, but I have never installed the linkedin app.
**I removed the linkedin contacts from my iphone by removing the linkedin "outlook social connector".**
http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=microsoft_outlook
It seems the outlook connector was downloading contact details from linkedin (and probably uploading all sorts of other data from my outlook to linkedin - I got linkedin recommendations to connect with people who had only ever sent me one email in the past), matching them to existing contacts in my exchange account, which was then synching with my iphone.
Seconds after I removed the connector, I opened the contacts app on the iphone, tapped "Groups" and linkedin was gone!
I don't have any connector installed in IOS (iPhone or iPad) nor Windows. In addition, I have never had a Linkedin group under my Contacts in IOS. I'm starting to believe it's a spyware or someting like that!!! Tks anyway.
Go to Settings with the Linkedln app.
Download Connections > turn Download Connections off for Contacts.
Add Calendar > turn Add Your Calendar off.
Allan, I use the free version of Linkedin. In Settings there is NO Download Connections option. Sorry I can not paste the screen. In Settings you have the following alternatives:
Profile
Communications
Groups, Companies & Applications
Account
None of those has the Download option.
Tks a lot for your help anyway!
I wasn't aware there is a free and paid version of the Linkedln app.
Which version of the app do you have installed?
Oh yes there is! I'm using the Basic version, which is free of charge. If you click on the Upgrade button when it's shown, Linkedin will offer you 3 versions: Business, Business Plus and Executive. Those accounts are used by headhunters and similar.
Again, where did you get the Download Connections option? I'm getting in to Linkedin thru Chrome or Safari under IOS
Gracias!

Again, which version of the app do you have installed on your iPhone - and why are you accessing Linkedln with Safari or a browser when there is an app?
I did not pay for the app and I see no upgrade option with the current free version of the app I'm using.
Once again,
Go to Settings with the Linkedln app.
Download Connections > turn Download Connections off for Contacts.
Add Calendar > turn Add Your Calendar off.
I had the same problem with the added contacts to my iphone/ipad. On your iphone go to Contacts>Groups>All iCloud (just have all icloud checked off). Problem solved!
If your trying to get the linked in contacts off your mac, go to system pref, click on internet accounts, find linked in and uncheck "contacts".
