I have noticed that my Power Mac G5 had started to make fan whines and hums. It normally does this just at a lesser volume. I have cleaned it recently, and and all of the inlets and outlets are not blocked or dirty. Any ideas on how to make it less loud?

What is the normal operating temp?
If you have any temps in the 70°C/160°F range, that's likely it.
But here's my G5 Quad...
All of my Processors are running at about 148°F.
That's OK, not ideal, but acceptable. When you cleaned, did you blow out all the fans?
Yes, I cleaned all the fans, boards and heat syncs. The room temp is always about 70 degrees.
It may be the thermal paste has dried and needs replacing, although, a well ventilated room will help keep temps down.
What model is it? Air or liquid cooled?
It is air cooled, model Powermac7,2
