ipod disabled and don't have passcode

my ipod touch gen 3 has an error for disabled and connect to itunes. i don't have the itunes/computer that it was originally connected to . How do I reset the device for use?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

You can restore from iCloud backup. Restoring from backup does NOT restore any screen-lock passocde.

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
