I have an Ipad and a Canon DSLR which uses CF cards. Should I get an adapter so I can use SD cards in the camera or one which lets me connect the CF cards to the Ipad.

I am not aware of any adapter that will allow you to connect the CF card directly to the iPad, but with the camera connection kit, you can connect the camera to the iPad using a USB cable.

Your two real options are to either connect the camera to the iPad via the USB part of the CCK, or if there is a SD to CF adapter that your camera will use and works well, you can try that.

I'd say I'd read the reviews on each item, consider cost and then go for the one that works for you.

Here's one CF card adapter http://astore.amazon.com/richarddavisp-20/detail/B0030UL7IG

Do a Google search and there's probably more.

An alternate method. Download the pics to your computer. Then transfer to your iPad.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
