i know it says my macbook late 2006 'officially' can't use 4gb of ram, but according to google it can, will Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 SO-DIMMs RAM 1333MHz work on my macbook? THANKS!

OWC, Other World Computing says this MacBook will take 4GB upgrade. I just ordered the set. I'll report on the results next week.
You can put two 2gb RAM sticks in your model 2,1 but it can only use 3,3gb. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed.

OWC tests have found that there is a slight speed increase with having two 2gb sticks in rather than one 1gb and one 2gb. Your model is in the gray lines at the bottom of the graph. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Memory_Benchmark/Apple_MacBook/
No Troubles with the 4 gig ram upgrade. Did hard drive as well. Noticeable speed increase but it's still a 6 year old machine. Read instructions. This was really easily done. Crucial site doesn't list 4 gig option. OWC has it.
