I too finally got an answer from UK support saying that they were going to release a new version of the app in time for the April edition of the mag on Friday 8th March.  Well the mag was in Waitrose on Friday 8th, new online edition appeared today (Wed 13th), but the app is still unchanged. *sigh*

Yes, I find it really disappointing. I understand the apps have to be tested by apple before they schedule them for download but Conde Nast/Vanity Fair need to give us the correct info. As I was going away, I had to buy VF which was quite expensive as some were air freight copies. (It's not published in Australia). I'm not happy about having to pay again for what I've already paid for but cannot use. I think the girl I spoke to have me info that she believed was true and correct but it would seem the tablet department didn't give her the whole story.

Frankly, I'm really sick of the lack of app support by both app developers as well as Apple itself. They're happy to take our money for the apps and in app purchases but after that they don't want to deal with us. Sorry but that's not how it works. In relation to Conde Nast/Vanity Fair, they're going to have to adapt to the new digital publishing platforms if they want to survive long term. They are also doing their content providers and advertisers a great disservice. I'm going to contact advertisers to let them know that the digital circulation figures CN are quoting are incorrect and that they ought to renegotiate their advertising rates based on the actual figures. I have no doubt that many readers read the magazine when they're on a plane or other transport without access to a web connection. I know I don't generally have time to read the magazine except when I'm on a plane or on holiday.

Spoke to UK support again today.  They are still being very apologetic but now the tablet team says another 10-15 days for the fix.  So it looks like its going to take close to 2 months longer to resolve this than it took them to fix the US edition.  International editions & subscribers would appear to be very low priority.....

Thank you for chasing that up. I note that the app still isn't fixed, that's disappointing. However that lovely girl at CN UK I spoke to stuck by her word and sent me both March and April copies of the magazine. Of course I received them too late for my holiday but that's not her fault.

I don't know anything about building apps but I don't know why this is taking so long.

Ahhhh, the joy of being at the bottom of the world and forgotten about when apps are updated. Still waiting on the VF upgrade. I don't understand why we can't get the US app, there doesn't appear to be anything regional in the VF app, nor other US apps that would stop delivery to the New Zealand App Store. The same delay for updates happens with the NFL app. When the new season's version is released the 'old' one stops working, takes you to the US App Store but won't let you update.

I wonder how I could get a US App Store account ......

Finally UK Edition of VF gets the no wifi usability without crashing update in New Zealand App Store, hopefully the rest will follow

Newsstand App still giving "newNullResponse" error with no update from Apple Australia. So what about the mags I have paid for and are now available in shops but not through Newsstand???

It seems this error has gone on too long. Hopeless.
