    I have the same issues... also I checked my cellular data usage and it is OFF THE CHARTS! it was at almost 18GB. I kept going in and out of the menu watching the number climb... what the **** is going on!!!

    Again, don't take offence, but it's clear you don't understand my writing or electronics.  I think it's beyond differences in semantics.  Load, hogging and culprit is the same thing.    


    Further more, Monitoring does not tell us if there is an increase in resistance to other electronic malfunctions that increase temperature.  Hardware issues with resistance will quickly generate heat (which could create a domino effect and create more problems).  So, if there is not much of a CPU or Modem/WiFi load from the monitoring you are doing then there shouldn't be much heat, but if there is then a person should direct their attention to a hardware issue and get out the Ohm meter (that's old school humor, today they throw out the entire electronics because of one small part).



    If you cannot tell the difference in temperature then your iPhone is not experiencing the problem I am referring to.  That's how hot of a temperature I am talking about.  But, you have to touch it early because it will heat up the entire iPhone; thus, making it difficult to sense which part is hotter.


    Go online to Apple's website and make an appointment.  Depending on the rep you speak with, you might be asked to do some of things I mentioned.  They go by the diagnosis info your iPhone collects as time goes by.  Personally monitoring someone's app won't change Apple's decision making process, it's a good conversation piece with others on a community board; such as, this one.  Have a good day.

    I tried a complete restore and it did not work. I have had Apple products for many years. I have always bragged how great they are. Now with this iPhone 5 it is just one problem after the next! I really hate this phone! I took my phone off the charger at 7:45am by 8:30am (45 min) my battery was down to 79%. I had not even used the phone yet! Before this iOS 6.1 my battery would last nearly 2 days without a charge, usually draining to about 50% over the course of a normal use day. I have been dealing with this phone's time and date screw ups for 5 months, now this!

    Lagging could also be from the iPhone not pushing less priority memory out of the way for whatever reason.  I experienced Apple doing a marvelous job with the iPhone4 and its iOS at the time in 2010, though.  A good example of this 'priority correction' I experienced by Apple occurred when 6.1 erased all my phone feature data (as well as all my On My iPhone Notes).  Now, the iPhone 5 processes the Settings>General>Usage screen info instantly as compared to the long lag before.  Was it a priority issue or memory process issue, or even worse (interference from malware), I don't know, but a little insight from Apple would have been nice.  But then, with today's [and late 20th century] cheap mainstream journalists that side with re-incarnated World War Two Axis governments, I too, would have withheld technical info from the mainstream media.


    Don't give up, keep informing Apple the problems you are experiencing.  Their reps also experience the problems we experience or else they would not have upgraded to the Beta iOS 6.1 versions 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 (I don't know how exactly how many version there were).

    I've read many posts stating people are switching and have switched to other phones because the battery was used up too fast.


    I personally think the 120Volt wall charger should draw 20% less Watts, perhaps even 50%.  I only charge it on the USB ports.   Also making a user friendly battery condition reminder to drain and recharge (without usage) periodically would also help for the current problems they are experiencing.

    I should note, I updated all of my iOS devises to 6.1 (regretfully). I have noticed my wife's and my iPhone 5s have the rapid battery drain. My old iPhone 4 (which is deactivated and used as an iPod) has held a good charge since the update, same goes for my wifi iPad, no battery issues. I wonder if the problem has to do with LTE connection? Supposedly this update was meant to fix LTE issues (such as the time and date problem) we may have just traded one problem for another...!

    The iPhone 4S doesn't have LTE as far as I know, so if your theory were correct 4S owners wouldn't be having battery issues.

    I found a fix by turning the Auto-Brightness off.  In my case, it seems iOS 6.1 likes to automatically set the brightness to maximum if you leave Auto-Brightness on regardless your device cover is on or not.

    Following up on my last post. I tried the Network Reset last night, and it seemed to work OK.I had charged the phone until shortly before I went to bed, and the battery reading was 95% in the morning. After some light usage this morning (checking email, a bit of web time and playing a game), the battery was down to 86% at about 7 AM this morning. I haven't used it since, and in the intervening 3.5 hours, the battery dropped to 67%, and the phone feels warm again. Again, it seems as if there is a process using lots of CPU, but I don't know how to find out what it is. I have iStat on the phone, but that doesn't tell me much-it just lists all the running processes, not how much CPU cycles they are using.

    Double check that you reset your data counter. By default, it shows you all of the data you've sent over the lifetime of the device. Mine was about the same as yours, but it was recording since I got the phone Feb. of 2012.


    I ended up doing full reset of 6.1 and it seems to have correct the issue.

    Since Apple does not have a solution for the battery issue

    it must give us the choice to downgrade our devices


    Please if you know a way to downgrade without shsh bulbs please inform me

    Could just be any cellular connection LTE or 3G causing the probelm (I'm just guessing based on my situations)... Otherwise I cannot explain why my non-cellular iOS devices do not have the battery drain problem...

    Whe you reset did you restore from back up? I restored from back up and still have the probelm.
