Gray, duplicated songs

My iPod has roughly 60 songs that it has duplicated. The duplicates have gray text, no cover art, cannot be played, and cannot be deleted. They show up in my music library as separate songs, so although I only have about 350 songs, my iPod says I have about 400. There are three songs that I deleted from my iPod ages ago that show up like this too, as well as one song that my iPod deleted on its own and kept the gray version. Solutions?

(Note: The USB ports on my computer no longer function, so I can't sync with a computer)

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync all music and resync

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I erased the entire contents of the iPod and redownloaded my songs from my iTunes purchases, which seems to have worked! Thank you! The only problem is, two of my songs are missing from my purchases so I can't redownload without repurchasing. Any advice?

Are you sure those two songs were not purchased with a different account?

Are thy listed in your purchase history?

One does appear in my Purchase History but not in my "Purchases" where I can redownload songs. That was purchased with this account. The other one was purchased before 2010, at least, and most likely on another account. I'll probably have to buy that one again.
