ipod in recovery mode

I have a ipod touch 5th generation. I was listening to music to iTunes and I noticed my ipod wasn't reading on my laptop nor was it charging. So when I looked at my ipod screen I saw a USB port image at the bottom of the screen, the word "itunes" in the middle and at the top it had the a music note...I tried reseeting and restoring. How can I do to make my ipod read on my laptop and how do I get my ipod out of recovery mode. I have updated it like 4 times.....HELPPPP......FRUSTRATED....It won't power on either...It just shows the apple and switch to the recovery mode screen

Maybe:

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.

Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
