Looking for an up-to-date recommendation. A friend has a Seagate. I don't know what model. It is a single un-raided drive. Can anyone recommend a make and model?

Found out the friend has a Seagate Barracuda. Not sure of max size. I will look it up.
I always go for "enterprise" class drives that are made for servers. They generally have a longer warranty and are made for 24x7 use. As for a particular brand, keep in mind that ALL drive manufacturers have had bad batches and that anything man-made is subject to failure.

I see Enterprise on the Seagate website. But not available on Amazon or B&H. Do you buy from Seagate?
I have in the past, but stopped several years ago. I use Hitachi these days.
