How do I add my iphone to a new laptop, new itunes, and sync without loosing phone data

I lost my previous laptop to a virus that trashed the harddisk and I couldn't save any data, or itunes etc.

So now I have a new laptop. So, how do I add itunes, and sync my iphone to my pc, without loosing data on the phone.

I basically want to get long memos (1-2hrs) off my iphone nd onto my laptop without loosing ANYTHING off the phone? Can this be done?

Appreciate any help.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.0.1, laptop suddenly lost.

It was a work laptop and I synched occaisionally, but I wasn't 100% sure what itunes folders I should have backed up onto a portable disk.

IT guy said he would fix it and screwed it, so just formated the disk without asking if I wanted anything off it.

So I don't trust the backups I have and just (foolishly thought) I could reload itunes, prod a few buttons and the phone would sync to the new laptop - I guess this isn't the case?

I'm interested in this too as I have a new computer and it says that it is synced with a different itunes and do i want to remove everything and start again. Surely by now we should be able to sync our devices to any itunes installation that carries our Apple ID without having to delete everything and start again?

You can if you back up to iCloud.

Lawrence, I followed this, but when in iTunes 11 and I

Select iphone

Music

Sync music

It asks if I want to wipe music videaos etc and replace with this library, and this library hasn't got my memo's. But If I click 'On this Phone' the memos appear on there - so I suspect that I will overwrite the memos and loose them?

Electronics guy, iFunBox won't sync with my iphone, and reports an error that a lot of others have reported last year with no fix seemingly available.

The joys of an iPhone hey.

Surely there must be a way to actually get at my own stuff I created on my phone? Please help.

Its my voice memos I want to save.

I've found a backup from Feb 2012, so I have some of them. I've no idea how I got them saved. But I can't seem to save the memos from itunes now.

I did everything in that link you gave me (it didn't ask if I wanted to merge contacts tho - but I went into outlook and created 1 contact and 1 diary entry before I started) - but I can only see the voice memo's if I click Iphone,On this Phone - no where else.

So I suspect that iTunes can see them on the phone, but the restore and backup didn't impact them. Also I get a warning that my iphone is sync'd to another itunes? Even though the process synced after the restore. Is this right?
