I would like to update my ipad to the new settings, and so i have tried moving all my pics over knowing that it might delete it all. I have had trouble getting all of my pics off and onto my computer and there is really no way to do it. So i was wondering if it was necessary to move the pics or not...

There really shouldn't be any problem updating your iPad. Your pics won't be deleted, but yeah, better do a Backup on Itunes.
