Hello,

I have been having some issue with the web browser and certain websites, most notably www.google.com. It only happens when I am connected to my home network, hence it happens to all devices connected to my home network; iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pro, iMac, every device I know. It happens maybe once or twice every 2 days or so. I have to wait about an hour or more, in order for the site to work again. I get all kinds of weird errors. When this happens the only search engine that works fine is www.yahoo.com. But www.google.com, www.facebook, and www.twitter.com, do no not work. I stop trying to use the internet since its very frustrated. I get 404 erros, cant verify the website, certificates issues, etc. Once, I get the veryfiy or ceritificate issue, website will be down for me. I have used my laptop outside my home network and works great, also my iPad and iPhone when on the Verizon network, I never get this issues. Thanks!

I am having this same problem. In addition to the "can't verify" message, when I click Continue, I get a login request that states: "To view this page, you must log in to area "Newcastle" on www.google.com:443."

I have disabled Extensions, deleted all google related cookies, and all google related key chains in utilities. Nothing has worked. This problem has just started since I got a new Mac Book Pro. Never had this problem with my old MacBook, ipad, or iphone.

Thoughts?

I also tried the extensions, didnt seem to work. Plus I get the message on al Apple devices that are connected to my home network. I also get the newcaste login for google.com like ichumphrey. It is extremely annoying ... !! It only happens in my home network.

I have a linksys router, an external hard drive attached to the router. Plus all the Apple products around the house.

Please read this whole message and be sure you understand all of it before doing anything.

Write down the server addresses.

Change the addresses to the following:

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

That's Google DNS.

In Safari, select

Safari ▹ Preferences... Privacy Remove All Website Data

and confirm. (Do the equivalent if you’re using another browser.) Test. Any difference?

I’m not advocating Google or anything else as a DNS provider; the server addresses are offerred merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

Well, i had the same problem sometime ago, at first i was really panicky i thought it was some kind of a virus or malware. It happened after i left my mac opened for a period of time and it runs out of battery and shuts off, i read in a tech spot that mac performs a reset when the device shuts off due to lack of charge. It resets the date or time, and lo and behold when i looked at my date it was on January 01, 2012 which is not the current date at that time.

So i suggest before doing some deleting and stuff, try checking your date or else it won't sync.

Hope this helps.
