I had WindowsXP (or Vista, whichever was new about 5 years ago)...  I bought a bunch of music on I-Tunes on my old computer. It has since 'died', and I need to figure out how to get my music transfered to my new Windows8 computer.    Can someone PLEASE help me?   Thank you so very much!! Marian

    Hi mjarnold,

No worries. The best thing would have been to have a backup, because although the music purchased from iTunes is easy to recover, other things will not be.

So, once you install iTunes on your new computer, sign on to iTunes, and register that computer, you will be able to go to the iTunes store. On the right-hand side, you will see a Quick Links option for Purchased Music. Click on that, and then click on the All Songs option in the left-hand sidebar, and your purchased music will be listed and will allow you to download to your new computer.

    Good luck!

I hate to admit how dumb I am. but when I get into the I-Tunes site, and sign in to the Apple store,I don't see theQuick Links for Purchased Music.  What am Idoing wrong?  (besides not being able to figure out the newkey board???)

Have you authorized your new computer?

What do you mean? I pulled up my user & password. What else do I need to do?

Click on "Store" on the top toolbar, and it will display a dropdown - on that dropdown you will see an option to Authorize this Computer - you need to do that before you will be able to download purchases.

Also, here is a link that may help:
