I am attempting a restore of my iPod classic, I keep getting message saying that my iPod is busy. What is it busy doing?

I have followed the troubleshooting guidelines, I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes to my Mac Book, what next?

Busy deleting everything from the iPod and Restoring it back to factory settings.
