my macbook charger when plugged in has a dim green light. i want to why this is so and how to fix this?

hi peoples

there was nothing wrong with my charger before and i have used it for almost 2 years. then a week ago when i plugged it in to charge instead of showing a green light and then turning to a orange light to indicate that it is charging, it shows a dim green light. so i left it overnight like that but no difference. then the next day it took the charger out and put it back and this time there was the same green dim light but now it also starts flashing a dim orange light as well. and so i searched on google and found out that if this occurs unplug the battery and plug it back in but dont take it out because then the warrant will be void. but unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. so it still is flashing and i m very frustrated because i m in year 12 and i need it for my works. so the battery in now currently out of charge and now i cant even use it. the warranty is also over and i got this from my shcool. i also tried the SMC reset but no change.

if some could please tell me what the problem is or how to solve it, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

thanks in advance!
