Problems with XServe - Doesn't Display Desktop

I restarted my Xserve running I believe 10.2 of OS X Server and it shows as Flashing folder icon with a Question mark and won't display the desktop. Any recommends on what I should do?

Thanks
Derrick

Make sure the drive module is properly plugged in. Then put a disc in the drive - OS X Server Install or even OS X Client Install or a recent version of DiskWarrior. See if the internal drive shows up. Try repairing the disk.

Do you have any critical data or system config info that isn't backed up? If the drive is showing up and you don't have anything too important on it try wiping the drive (zero out all data) and re-install OS X server.

If you do have un-backed up data and the drive shows up but still won't boot try booting from an external firewire drive, recover whatever you can and then try the erase and install as above & restore data.

If drive doesn't show up or acts very flaky order/put in a new drive module ASAP.
