Feb 16, 2013 3:06 AM in response to nath.02.28by ShyamSharma,I kinda regret switching from the 4s to the 5 , should have got myself the note 2 or another android device.
I have to like reset the network settings 20 times a day just to get the 3G up and running.
Sigh....what is apple support doing ..... Sleeping, or like other posts here, they have just decided to ignore us !!
Darn !!!!

Feb 17, 2013 11:31 PM in response to ShyamSharmaby yclam5729,ShyamSharma, I am having same situation with you using Maxis changing from 4S to 5. Just started to put Manual in Carrier Setting instead of Auto, the situation much better at least I toggle Airplane mode I can get back 3G not like in Auto Carrier mode which I have to reboot. Just tested this mode 1 hour ago and works everytime in same location, have to test more areas to know how efficient this is, toggle when no 3G happens to 4S as well. Apparently Malaysia telcos have such problem with Iphone 5 but not my friend in Sg.

Feb 19, 2013 3:13 AM in response to nath.02.28by Wombasta,Macrumors says (http://www.macrumors.com/2013/02/15/ios-6-1-2-to-address-exchange-and-passcode-b ugs-reportedly-coming-early-next-week/) it is likely that Apple is going to release 6.1.2 that week. Patch is supposed to fix passcode hack issue and ms exchange issue.
Hopefully it will solve our problem somehow.
Cross the fingers

Feb 19, 2013 2:00 PM in response to nath.02.28by Titi397,Upgraded to iOS 6.1.2. Slightly better. At least now I've set my carrier to manual mode, and if I enable 3G and after that, enable and disable airplane mode, 3G is back and working, something that I couldn't do under iOS 6.1 unless rebooting the iPhone. But when I turn 3G off, it won't come back later at least that I do all the process again.
Must say, I had my doubts before jumping from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5 or moving to another mobile an OS, and endeed up buying it after all. Now my doubts grow bigger and I'm not sure wether to keep on using iPhone or changing to something completely different, but functional...

Feb 19, 2013 10:50 PM in response to nath.02.28by TigerBrown,This is ridiculous, the new update does absolutely nothing in that regard. 3g via manual carrier selection still works though..
Let me be clear about this, we only have a very low chance for a fix. Apple does not care als long as only a small minority has a certain kind of problem AND as long as media coverage (Techblogs etc.) won't make some noise about it.
