Q: 3G Issue IOS 6.1 - Iphone 5

Same here in PORTUGAL. I have an iphone 5 for just 6 months and it's allways ok, until a month ago. Lost 3G at home, were i have max 3G signal, and my old iphone 4 still works fine on 6.1.4, allways 3G. Changed nano sim for 3 times, changed iphone 5, they give me a new one, made all resets that can be done, etc, etc......still the same, lost signal very often, drop calls and the battery drain's very fast. I think the only solution is to leave APPLE, and get a better phone, or maybe IOS 7 will solve it, i hope so. IPHONE 5 BLACK 32GB BASEBAND FREE. It's a shame for a 800€ phone.

It's indeed a shame, my Iphone costs 789eur. The basic things of a smart phone does not work! Mostly no 3G, only Edge. Phonecalls or not possible, I hear only a robot voice from the caller :-) Sometimes calls just ends. No Signal whatever. Apple managers, please act !!!! Or next Phone will not be Apple anymore. Iphone5, 32GB, Mobistar BE.

I turned off LTE and now it works fine. You should not have to but, when LTE is not available the current IOS with not display 3g or 4g.

there are a lot of different advice ive been given and tried unsucessfully until i contacted apple direct .now i know the 100% solution to get 3g back..but only if youve recently upgraded or changed your phone..JUST CONTACT YOUR CARRIER..THEY HAVE FORGOT TO ACTIVATE 3G ON YOUR PHONE..it takes 5 seconds and they dont need your phone in their hands.this is nearly always why the problem occurs so if youve recently changed phone and have been banging your head trying to get 3g your misery is over!

IOS7 was my hope too. I upgraded to IOS7 on the first day of its release but it did not solve our problem.

Now iPhone 5C / 5S are my hope but they are not available at my country yet.

Anyone has tried 5C / 5S?

ok that worked but now i only have one bar of coverage when emobile 3G is on ? is there any way i can have good coverage and 3G on ?

Same issue happens with my iPhone 5S! I really don't know whats going on ... from AT&T

Omg. I thought all the while that I am the only one having the same problem. I first thought that it's my i5 unit itself is faulty until I have read this thread. I'm from the Philippines and I've been enduring this plight for almost a year now. How do we have this resolved?

Well it's the last day of 2013 today and apparently there's still no solution to this problem. I'm also still facing this problem in Singapore. It's really a hassle to keep rebooting your phone just to get the 3G signal back on. Also, may I point out the weak wifi signals when using certain phone cases? When I use my Mercury jelly case, my wifi signal drops to just 1 bar even when I'm home. I have to use the Kate Spade case one now to get better signals as it doesnt cover the top right corner where the antenna is located.

Anyhoo, the 3G problem still persists. Apple, please do something about these issues!
