Updfated my phone last night, woke up and the phone's screen requests to be connected to iTunes. Connected it to my MacBook Air. Neither the Mac, not iTunes can see my phone. I'm at a loss what to do now

Did you try the simple things such as restarting iTunes and the iPhone? If so, try starting iTunes, connect the USB end of the cable to the computer, then while holding the home button on the iPhone connect the dock connector end of the cable...should put you in recovery mode so iTunes then sees the iPhone.
Hey Ralph, thanks. I did restart my mac, restarted the phone, closed and reopened iTunes; tries holding home button while connecting the dock conncector, and nothing's changed. When I hold down home and power button, the phone seems to shut down, but then starts back up and goes right back straight to the "conect to iTunes" screen. Even Finder doesn't see it. Finder shows an empty Remote Disc.
During update, my phone requests to be connected to iTunes. Upon connection, iTunes nor my MacBook recognizes my phone. Now what?!
