Q: keyboard illumination varies

I've been asked why a MacBook Pro keyboard illuminates and then it doesn't.

This would seem to happen during a session, it goes on and then off for seemingly no reason.

Would this be related to the room lighting intensity or a product malfunction?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Probably it is the light intensity (ambient light) inside the room.

You can reset PRAM and SMC to make sure that there is no product malfunction.

Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405

Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

Choose the appropriate method.

Check your System Preferences

>SysPrefe>Keyboard>Adjust Keyboard Brightness in Low Light

Try unchecking the √ box if it is checked
