FireWire on Windows 7 (Boot Camp) don't work

Hi,

I installed Windows 7 on a partition on my Mac (MacBook Pro retina, 15 inch, 2.6, 16 GB ram), for install cubase. I have a Audio Capture (Edriol FA-66), that connect to the computer with FireWire (I have also the Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter), but when I connect the firewire cabel to the Mac, the windows don't reconize the firewire device. I searched that in the web, but I didn't found my problem (I tried to update the "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller" in the manage devices, but I even don't have a "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers").

I must fix it, because I have to use my Audio Capture (in the cubase).

Tanks for everyone who can help!

Roi! 🙂

By golly, this really fixed it.

I can't fathom how the Boot Camp drivers think it's a good idea to not just install all drivers needed for proper operation of the hardware, but apparently so.

In my case I have a Firewire 400 audio card, M-Audio Firewire 410, which M-Audio can't be bothered making drivers for Mac OS X for anymore, and I need to use it for recording vocals next week on the road.

I purchased a Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter with my new MacBook Air 2013, and a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable, and the thing just didn't work when I plugged it in.

I had installed Boot Camp before plugging it in.

I just re-installed all the Boot Camp drivers with the device plugged in, and lo and behold, the device (and the Firewire port in general) was finally recognized.

It works.

Thank you!

Obviously there was an error, drivers don't think, but the people who wrote them do.

The information that having the device present during installation is logical and helpful to others.

Thanks, and you're welcome.
