My Ipad 2 is stuck in recovery mode after the update 6.1

Two days ago I heard of people around me the new update for the ipad2 is out so I went to settings checked if there was one and there was one. So I clicked on download and so it went on it turned off after it and got stuck on the screen where you see you have to connect to itunes. I connected it to itunes and it said its in recovery mode. I clicked on recovory and fix it so it went downloading after 12 min maybe it was finished but came up with the error 1403 that the downloading was damaged and corrupted.... So I tried agin but I keep getting the same message and two days have gone by and still cant use my Ipad? Anyone else has this problem with his/her ipad 2? Anyone else who fixed it? Is apple working on it?

Hoping someone can please help me. Ipad 2 didn't update correctly last night. Now it says it's in recovery mode and need to restore. I've tried it, and It says "cannot be restored at this time becuase the iPad software update server could not be contactd or is temporarily unavailable"

I also tried manually downloading the firmware file and restore using that but still get the same message.

Have been trying all day to get it to work with no luck

it FIXED !!

finallyyy !!

I don't really know what happened actually since I've spent hours just to read lots of forums related to this problem *though most of them weren't that helping* , but I eventually hit restore button without holding shift to select manual firmware then the awaited apple logo with waiting bar was there!

Thanks a lot everyone *muachh* 😀

For recovery/ update families please go to the front of this thread and follow my instructions there. To fix the 3194 error please try the following:

Fix iTunes Error 3194 During iOS Update

In most cases, it’s because of a simple problem with the hosts file. Here’s how to fix it:

For Windows, navigate to C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/ and find the file that’s named “hosts”

For Mac, the file is in /etc/

Open the file in Notepad (or any other text editing software) (for Windows users, open this with Administrator Privileges)

You’ll mostly have this line at the bottom of the file:

74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

Either comment this line out by typing a single ‘#’ (without the quotes) in front of the line (before 74) or remove the line entirely.

Now, save the hosts file and then try updating your iPhone through iTunes.

In most cases, the error shouldn’t pop up now.

Cheers

thankyou both techmadness and varshini !!

actually I want to stay in 6.1.2 that's why I want to use the firmware you mentioned earlier, but somehow error kept occuring then that one click made my ipad in 6.1.3

However, it's really much better than having dead ipad stuck on your desk *it's seriously frustrating*

Thankyou again..

Anyway, that firmware you first mentioned, it was written 6.1

is it 6.1.2 or earlier version? I'm just wandering whether I couldn't install it since the firmware is the earlier version than mine *is it counted as downgrade?*

My Ipad 2 is stuck in recovery mode after the update 6.1
