My Ipad 2 is stuck in recovery mode after the update 6.1

Two days ago I heard of people around me the new update for the ipad2 is out so I went to settings checked if there was one and there was one. So I clicked on download and so it went on it turned off after it and got stuck on the screen where you see you have to connect to itunes. I connected it to itunes and it said its in recovery mode. I clicked on recovory and fix it so it went downloading after 12 min maybe it was finished but came up with the error 1403 that the downloading was damaged and corrupted.... So I tried agin but I keep getting the same message and two days have gone by and still cant use my Ipad? Anyone else has this problem with his/her ipad 2? Anyone else who fixed it? Is apple working on it?

Disappointing that the post offering assistance has been deleted by Apple...this exact issue happened to me a few months ago, after trawling through numerous forums, following the instructions from Apple and 90 minutes on the telephone to a Tech I drove to Adelaide (I am in Rural SA) to have my iPad 2 assessed by a Tech - 10 days later I was given a replacement.

I am now on vacation in the UK and (foolishly) applied the update 2 days ago only to have EXACTLY the same issue with the replacement iPad 2. Seriously unimpressed. Now I am stuck with an inoperable iPad until I return to Australia in a few weeks.

Apple - I note almost 40,000 people have viewed this thread so it is clear those posting here are not alone. If there is a fix why on earth have you deleted it? Your reputation for providing exceptional customer service is being eradicated by some very poor decisions. I suspect Steve Jobs may be turning in his grave.

I've run into the same problem with my iPad 2 going into permanent restore mode after the update to 6.1. This appears to be Apple's version of the Red Ring of Death and it makes all those Apple commercials mocking PC pretty ironic right now.

I've tried disconnecting my router and running directly through my internet connection. I've turned off all virus scanners and firewalls. I've tried downloading the firmware for both 6.0 and 6.1.3. I continue to get the same Error Code -1 that I received from the start of this mess.

I'd consider taking it to Apple, but given that the screen is cracked, my understanding is that they won't look at it without charging me a large sum to fix that first. You'd think that after several months of this, they'd have found a solution, but I guess they're too busy deleting posts that actually attempt to solve the problem.

Techmadness, if you could find a few minutes to send me your solution, or some sort of contact data to j.price@totalise.co.uk, i'd like to engage your help to resolve this.

Thank you sir,

Apple -

I made the mistake of updating my iPad2, again with disasterous results. I got fed up with your software prompting me to upgrade, so I finally said yes, and now my iPad2 doesnt work. That means that you have some responsibilty to resolve this problem, not hide away.

Why oh Why Apple, would you want to delete the post that would answer my problem? If you had a better solution - or even any solution, whay would you not add that as well?
