Feb 1, 2013 2:15 AM in response to cprice2by Techmadness,Incorrect.
The software package previously used to update te iPad is incomplete, built incorrectly or contains errors/bugs etc, it is not corrupted (atleast not by the users downloading it or the method of which they used to download it). Corruption is used to describe something that was perfect and then by other means has become invalid/changed or corrupted.
The package contains errors and therefore does not pass the error checking system, therefore deemed invalid or corrupted. You then receive a generic error message and of course people love using the word corruption incorrectly, event the people who write the error msg text.
The software on the device is not corrupt, it simple is half way through a process, its next step fails and it shouts for help, the invalid file is still on your computer and has only done half the job on your ipad.
Thus, the file itself is not corrupted, its crap! it then does not corrupt your ipad, it just leaves it hanging.
(working for a core software company has taught me a lot :-) )

I had the HP Download manager problem on one computer that cost me last evening. Once I saw that post and downloaded on another computer w/o the download manager, I was up and active inside of no time. All the best!

Feb 2, 2013 6:11 AM in response to hotorangeby paxilboy,Hey guys. I am having the same problem here, but when I try to recover from the downloaded ios file Techmadness suggested, after processing the file I get this message:
Ipad wasnt restored since it couldnt contact the ipad software actualization host or it`s temporarily unavailable.
I have to mention that when I turn my ipad on it appears recovery mode and after less than 30 seconds it turns automatically off, even if the ios file is being processed.
Can anybody help me?
