My phone just updated to 6.0 and all of my contacts are gone. How do I retrieve them?

Hello I am a new iphone user and this morning I selected we to the new 6.0 systems upgrade. I have lost all of my contacts. I still have all of my information on my calendar. Is there a way to retrieve my conacts... Please help!
