Q: ios 6.1 wifi issue

I recently upgrade my ipod touch 4th gen to ios 6.1. ever since then my wifi has been coming on and off at random times. i know it has to be a problem with the upgrade because it worked flawlessly before. all my other devices are hooked up to the same internet and the all still work. its very frustrating and i want to know if it can be fixed or if i can downgrade back to ios 6

iPod touch, iOS 6.1

I'm getting the same garbage, iPhone 5, ios 6.1... prior to 6.1 no issues at all but now wifi just drops repeatedly. Apple, do u not QA test before releasing software?? This is unacceptable

Same for me. IPhone 4 upgraded to 6.1 yesterday, now won't stay connected to wifi more than 2 mins. Resetting network settings makes no difference. Other devices including iPad running 5.1.1 are fine. PLEASE FIX THIS NOW APPLE

Same problem here. iOS 6.1 *****. I honestly wish I could go back to iOS 4. Everything was great. So much for bug fixes. (iPod 4)

We have two iPhone 5s. Wifi on first one didn't work with iOS 6.0.2 and 6.1. Wifi on second stopped working since iOS 6.1.

iPad 2 - wifi didn't work with iOS 6.0.2 and still doesn't work with iOS 6.1.

    Very disappointing!

Interestingly I recently upgraded from a 4S with the problem to a 5 and the problem didn't follow me.

Maybe it's worth backing up. Wiping your iPhone, re-installing iOS then restoring your phone as that's basically the process I went through to move from my 4S to my 5.

Hi, I have the same problem, since I updated my iPad 4Gen to iOS version 6.1. Additionally I found that the iPad fails to connect to radios B / G / N (2.4 GHz), while if you connect to radios A / N (5 GHz) everything works fine.

When I had the version of iOS 6.0.1 everything worked fine, and now I can not downgrade my iPad.

I've done all the things I said in the Apple support and nothing.

Same here.  As I'm writing this reply, my iPad 3rd gen with Verizon LTE lost its connection to the network.  I upgraded to iOS 6.1 and just like the rest of you, I've been getting intermittently disconnected from both the cellular network and wifi.  This is really lame. :/

Same problem with iphone 4s and Ipad 4, after updating via Itunes i have the same problem, Wi-Fi is continually dropping when I lock it or Auto-lock kicks in, reinstalled iOS 6.1 via restore donwloaded from Apple and no change, is the same thing always losing Wi-Fi connection.  Could someone from apple acknowledge this issue, the support communities are full of threads like this.

After upgrading to 6.1 on my 3GS, same problem. No stabile Wifi and GPS anymore. Went to an Apple Store yesterday, they open the phone and make it free from dust at the connectors. Then phone worked again for short time but then same problem again. I cant reinstall iOS 5.1.1 for to check out if this would work better, but I guess it´s a seriuous software bug in 6.1.

APPLE - PLS FIX THAT SOON!!!!!!!!!

I am also having the same problem with my iPhone 5.... since the upgrade to iOS 6.1, the phone is incapable of holding a wifi connection for more than 30 seconds....

This screws up everything that uses data!!  My phone is basically useless as a smartphone now unless I disable Wifi... which will lead to huuge data bills!!

i just found out a solution. Turn on Wifi. Choose your  wifi network, then click the arrow on the right side, then on the lowest portion where you can see Off-Manual-Auto, choose Auto..
