Closing apps before Office update

The updating of Office wants me to close certain programs first, like Outlook. Fine. I tell it to close open apps. But it doesn't close Microsoft Database Daemon.app or SyncServicesAgent.app. How do I close them so the installer can continue

The first thing you should try is to restart your Mac, unticking "Restore windows when logging back in", and trying to install the Office update again after restarting.

If it doesn't work, you can open Activity Monitor and quit Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent manually, or pressing Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode, and then install the Office update
