i am having a problem fing my things on my laptop after installing i tunes again...it is sending everything to i cloud, but i need to have it in my i tunes

I am having problems finding my things on my laptop. My laptop got wiped out a few months ago, I had a friend reinstall the operating system and fix it. I installed I-tunes again today, did a backup, and did the update. my things arent on my laptop physically like they used to be. I cant find my bookmarks, photo's, contacts, ect. Can anyone help me?
