How to delete songs on iPhone 4s ios6.1 with iTunes 11.0.1

Alright, I have tried and looked everywhere to no avail. I have an Iphone 4s w/ ios6.1 and Itunes 11.0.1. When trying to manage my music on my iphone using Itunes, I can't seem to delete any of them. I'm not even given the option w/ right click, drag to trash or edit> delete. I have checked "manually manage", never had Music match on and only back up to my computer. I'm at a total lose!!! And really getting pisssssed! HELP!!!

To delete music you copied to your phone via a sync with your computer you need to do another sync but this deselect the playlists you no longer want on your phone.

Start iTunes on your computer and connect your phone. Select your phone in iTunes and select Music from the row of tab presented. Then deselect the playlists and tracks you no longer want on the phone and finally click on Apply or Sync.

Thats wrong. You have to click the blue button 'Done'. Now you at your music.

Here you can check or uncheck music you want.

Again, click the 'iPhone' button on the right upper corner. In tap 'summary' scroll down and check 'Only sync checked music' (or something like that).

Now go to the tab 'Music' (4 tabs to the right in iTunes). Here you check: Sync music.

And here you can chose what kind of music you want. Artis, playlist ect.

Hope this will help or solve your question

While you are in song list, you can swipe (slide finger over to right or left) and delete button will appear.

Parenthetically iTunes has messed so much stuff up that I have purchased third party software *Wondershare TransPod) so that I don't have to use iTunes to move music, movies, etc back and forth from my computer and iPhone 4S. Too bad.

But in this situation you don't need to connect your iPhone to your computer or use iTunes. Only works for me in song list ~

Hey all,

Surprised that no one has said this but here's the scoop for those (like me) looking to remove all songs from their iPhone memory and simply use iTunes Match for cloud-based access.

iPhone Settings / Usage / Music / Swipe right to left to Delete.

Don't worry, you're not actually deleting your whole Music "app" but rather the content locally. Because you have iTunes Match, they'll continue to show up in your Music song lists etc with the iCloud symbol next to them.

Voila...your whole Music library on the iPhone is now iCloud-only, freeing up acres of space.

This applies to 6.1.3 iOS anyway...
