Thanks to everyone for the help with my printing problem I am still attempting to conquer it. I think I should have mentioned that my laptop is not a Mac but a wireless PC running windows XP.
Does this make any difference to your suggestions.
I had tried print central but it did not find my printer.

No GrumpyGator I have not had time to try all the suggestion yet, to be honest I am struggling even coping with how to reply to this community especially using this Ipad which I have not had very long. So my apologies if Iam doing it wrong.

Thanks for your help everyone. I have now managed to print using both finger print and pro printer to the Canon pixma MP620 but have to go through the laptop running windows XP. do you know any way or app that would allow me to print wirelessly direct from ipad to the Canon without the aid of the laptop? i.e with the laptop switched off? Regards Navigater1

Unfortunately rccharles the Canon app you offered does not as many other people have confirmed, support or recognise my pixma model mp620 printer otherwise Iam sure the app would have been great.
