can you mix 667MHz DIMMs with 800MHz DIMMs

I'm purchasing a newer Mac Pro with the faster 800MHz DDR2 DIMM. What are the consequences of adding 667MHz DIMMS to increase memory? Does the larger bank of memory offset the slower speed? Is there any potential damage to the hardware by mixing the two different speed DIMMS?

run at the slower speed. "Cost" is small 4% hit.

8 DIMMs though offers 17% better memory bandwidth performance than using less DIMMs

Amazon has new highest quality 667s @ $33 2x2GB kit making them very affordable.

If you need 4GB DIMMs, that is when price jumps very high.
