Visual feedback when pressing a media key

I was wondering if there was any way to get visual feedback when a media key (the back, play/pause, and next buttons) is used. For example, whenever the brightness or volume keys are used, the translucent display comes up showing what the current state of whatever you just changed is. However, there is no such popup for the media keys, which annoys me a fair bit.
