Using Mail now means my new emails do not show up as unread on iOS devices

I recently started using Mail on my Mac Mini. Now my new emails no longer show up as unread on my iPad & iPhone. Is there a setting I have missed somewhere?

The email account in question is a webmail hosted account from my ISP, so not a Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo type account.

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
