After installing and playing the game "Empire Total War", my battery life dropped from 5 hours to just under 3 hours. Does anyone know why and how I can fix this?

does it drain even without the game running? I mean, playing a game can significantly decrease battery life.
Yea! I fully charged it, brought it to school, and found out it was only going to last for another 2 hours and a half. I even tried calibrating it by running the battery all the way empty overnight, then fully charging it again.
I think I may have figured it out myself. I looked at my activity monitor and there was some Quicktime thing (probably that ran because of the game) that was taking up 90% of my CPU even though the game wasn't running. The battery seems like it's normal again now.
