Triple-click the line below to select it:

~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

Services Show Info

from the contextual menu. An Info dialog should open.

Does the dialog show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
What is the Modified date?

Quit Mail.

Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.

Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:

~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index

Copy (command-C) the selected text to the Clipboard. In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder

from the menu bar. Paste (command-V) into the box that opens, then press return.

A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.

Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. If you get a warning that the file is in use when you try to empty the Trash, log out and log back in.

Hello Alekei05

My friend actually helped me fix this issue no problem. He just deleted the mail accounts from the Mail App and readded them. The key is to let all the old emails load up without interruption. He says that it's because they weren't completely loaded into the mail app so everytime you open Mail it thinks all your old mail is "new" because it wasn't properly loaded. Give it a try...it worked for me!
