I was told to go the Terminal page and to key in the scipts provided by Apple but still could not get rid of Java 7 and restore to Apple's Java 6.

Apple has blocked both the Oracle and Apple Java plugins for security reasons. You'll have to wait for the next release of one or the other. Both should be considered permanently unsafe, even when not blocked.

How long should I wait? I need it desparately.
This is very important to me. Almost every financial instituion uses Java to enable real-time update of equity, bonds, foreign exchange rates and commodities prices, in addition to their tading platform. If a computer doesn't work with Java, it is a big handicap.

@Alfred: not true. I am in Europe in different countries, and as far as I know no bank uses Java.
Who says you can't have Java on a Mac. Just make sure you have the latest version, downloaded from http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp or thru the Java Control Panel if you had installed the previous Oracle-released version.

Yes, Java 7, version 13 is installed. But the Plug-in won't work.
I called Apple support in HongKong, they said both Java 7 and Java 6 were blocked because of security reasons.
