How do I import tracks from Garageband as backing tracks

I am using Garageband. Was going to use it for a backing track for live gigs but it is a pain. Was reading about how great mainstage is but I cannot find how to bring exisint tracks from Garageband into Mainstage.

Export it to iTunes and then drag it onto the channel strip area in MainStage. This will create a channel strip with a "Playback" plugin instance using this audio file.

Do you mean to convert it "mp3" and drag it in or leave it as Garageband track and drag it in
