After updating iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1, Podcast app will no longer play longer than 10 sec of any podcast

I updated my iPhone 5 last night to iOS 6.1 and awoke to find that the Podcast app, which was solid in the past, is now looping the first 10 seconds of any podcast. It doesn't matter if it was downloaded or streamed. If you try to advance the player, the app will roll back the advancement in 10 second increments until it gets to the beginning and then only plays the first 10 seconds before looping back to the beginning. I can't seem to find any documentation in Support that relates to this issue outside of the previous complaints about the app. Is there a way to resolve this issue?
